Biography

Edvard Hagerup Grieg (1843-1907), Norwegian composer, was born in Bergen, Norway on the 15 June 1843. Grieg studied in several schools, including Tanks Upper School, and Tanks School. Grieg enrolled in the Leipzig Conservatory, concentrating on the piano. In 1861 Grieg made his debut as a concert pianist, in Karlshamn, Sweden. Edvard Grieg died in the late summer of 1907, aged 64, after a long period of illness.
