Biography

Robert Sinker (1838-1913), librarian of Trinity College Cambridge and biblical scholar, was born in Liverpool on 17 July 1838. He attended the Liverpool Collegiate Institution, before entering Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1858 (B.A., 1862; M.A., 1865; B.D., 1880; D.D., 1890). He was ordained deacon in 1863, and priest in 1864. Sinker was curate of Coton, Cambridgeshire, 1863-1866, chaplain of Trinity College, 1865-1871, and librarian at Trinity, 1871-1907. He died on 5 March 1913.
