Biography

Sir Henry Singer Keating (1804-1888), judge, was born in Dublin in 1804, the third son of Lieutenant-General Sir Henry Sheehy Keating. He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin before being admitted to the Inner Temple in 1832. He was made a QC in 1849. Keating was liberal MP for Reading before becoming solicitor general in 1857 when he was also knighted. In 1859 he was appointed judge of common pleas. Keating died in 1888.
