Pitt's letter begins by apologising for not being able to accept Wilberforce's invitation and goes on to say the King has written to ask him to accept the Lord Wardenship of the Cinque Ports upon the death of the Earl of Guildford and Pitt notes he intends to accept the offer [Pitt went on to hold the Wardenship until his death in 1806]....
