This small but interesting collection of copies of papers and photographs relates to the service of Charles Terry in the Royal Navy in the First World War and in the Army as a Major in the Royal Artillery in the Second World War. In 1918, Charles Terry had the remarkable prescience to photograph the German ships as they lay at anchor at Scapa Flow the day before they were scuttled and the four resulting pictures fit together to give a panoramic view of the entire captured German Fleet.
