He also discusses: the future marriage of [Lord] Curzon [later 4th Lord Howe] to "Georgie" [Lady Georgiana Churchill, later Lady Curzon and Lady Howe] which he describes as "brilliant"; his poor health; and his opinion that it would be undesirable for her to have dinner with Mrs Beauclere alone; and arrangements for moving into a house.

Letter from WSC (Colonial Office) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] including: the behaviour of the Tory Party about the Transvaal [South Africa] loan and the diamond; concern over the letting of a house; an appeal to help him with the management of [household] affairs; the progress of government business due to several late night sittings of Parliament; a meeting with [5th Lord] Rosebery; and the places he plans to visit with Gordon Wilson.

Letter from WSC (St George's School, Ascot [Berkshire]) to "Mama" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he says that he hopes that she will visit him and will allow [Elizabeth] Everest and "Jack" [John S Churchill] to come and see the athletics. Letter from WSC (29 & 30 Brunswick Road, Brighton [Hove, East Sussex]) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] asking for a postal order of 10 shillings, relating the success of the second run of the school play and discussing arrangements for his return (which include a maid being turned out of his room).

Letter from WSC (29 & 30 Brunswick Road, Brighton [Hove, East Sussex]) to "Papa" [Lord Randolph Churchill] thanking him for sending him stamps and autographs, commenting on a fire at 2 Connaught Place [London], reporting on his progress at school and wishing him success in his speech at Bradford [Yorkshire] "I hope you...cut the ground from under the feet of the Liberals".

Letter from Marie [Duchess of Edinburgh] (Eastwell [Kent]) to Lady Randolph [Churchill] in which she discusses possible dates for Lady Randolph and WSC to visit Eastwell and comments on a rumour that Lord Randolph [Churchill] would like to rent Eastwell and on the impression that he made on the Kentish people.

Letter from WSC (35A Great Cumberland Place [London]) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he reports that he intends to move into rooms offered to him by "Sunny" [Charles, 9th Duke of Marlborough] and that he has been entertained at Tring [Park, Hertfordshire] and well received by Sir Evelyn Wood and Lord Wolseley.

Letter from "Jack" [John S Churchill] to "Mama" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he says that he and "Winny" [WSC] were invited to lunch with Aunt Cornelia [Lady Wimborne, formerly Lady Cornelia Churchill and Cornelia, Lady Guest] and asks her to send "Womany" [Elizabeth Everest] some money as "she is very low down indeed".

Letter from Lord Randolph Churchill (50 Grosvenor Square [London]) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] describing his journey and a hunting expedition with the Meath hounds and discussing his bedroom furniture. He adds that he has sent WSC a copy of his Sandhurst examination marks commenting that he should be pleased with his position of eighth despite criticism for impunctuality.
