Scope and Contents

Copies of two catalogues:

1. Messier's catalogue of nebulae arranged in order of right ascension for 1840, with constants for reducing the apparent places. A note by Tupman records that he has been unable to discover anything relating to the history of the catalogue, and that is was purchased in Berlin in 1867.

2. Translation of Ptolemy's catalogue by M. Halma, dated by Tupman 1867.
