Scope and Contents

The papers comprise drafts of two of Ivy Compton-Burnett's novels, translations of poems by Margaret Jourdain, correspondence, press cuttings, broadcasts about ICB's work, diaries and a few photographs.

2 autograph letters signed. The file includes an autograph manuscript tribute by Rosamond Lehmann and a typescript with manuscript annotations by Christopher Sykes, read at Ivy Compton-Burnett's memorial service on 24 Oct. 1969.
