Biography

F.A. Swaine was a commercial photographer active in London, England, circa 1919-1938. Swaine had a studio at 146 New Bond Street. Sources: Typescript copy of 'Index to Photographers'.

The male gender of F.A. Swaine was verified by a card in the Local Studies collection of the London Borough of Sutton, brought to our attention by Borough Archivist and Local Studies Manager, Ms Kathleen Shawcross (by email to RCS Librarian on 2 January 2015).

126 x 195 mm. Head and shoulders full face portrait of Bell in uniform. Written in the top right hand corner is '45 yrs' but this is evidently incorrect since it would date the print to 1910 at the latest and Bell is here seen wearing the Coronation Medal of 1911.
