Letter from Hughes to the Admiralty Office enquiring as to why he had not received an answer from the Board of Longitude about his chart of longitude. Hughes mentions that he had read an advertisement that Francis Stanford, a Franciscan friar, had discovered 'the real longitude', and says that he hoped that details of his own proposal had not been divulged to that monk.
