Biography

A. Sylvester Taylor was possibly a stereophotographer in New York, United States, 1850s-60s and in Costa Rica 1860s. He had a studio in Main Street, Georgetown, British Guiana (now Guyana) circa 1876 ('The British Guiana directory...' 1876, p.87 and 177). He was active in Barbados in the 1870s and 1880s. His cabinet portraits state on the reverse: 'From Boston'.
