Biography

John Hubert Newman was working at Bradley and Allen, Sydney, Australia in 1862. From 1863 onwards he was based at a variety of studios in Sydney: Crown Street 1863-66; 53 South Head Road 1865-69; 12 South Head Road 1869-74; 12 Oxford Street 1875-94; 314 George Street 1894-1900 (Davies and Stanbury 1985, p.206).
