Scope and Contents These drawings illustrate objects which do not pertain to the categories of ivory or faience objects nor ceramic vessels, and share in common the excavation year of 1955. Three were drawn immediately by P. de Jong in 1955, featuring items excavated in the House of Sphinxes. The terracotta ‘candlestick’ 55-0 was excavated in Tsountas’ Dump within the citadel, in the south-west corner of the Polygonal Tower area by the Cyclopean wall. These pottery sherds were excavated in the Street of House of the Oil Merchant (HOM) in 1954. The pottery was all registered with excavation numbers. All were drawn by C. K. Williams in 1957. Most drawings are unsigned (some are initialed CKW) and the scale is 1:1.

Scope and Contents

These pottery sherds were excavated in 1939 from the Atreus Bothros area which cut across the Treasury of Atreus dromos. Following the practice of the time, when only whole pots were registered, these sherds were not allocated an excavation number. They are identified by their Nauplion Museum numbers. All were drawn by C. K. Williams in 1957. The drawings are unsigned and the scale is 1:1.
