Stanley French came to Downing College, Cambridge in 1924 to read English. He graduated 1927 and began a second career at Downing as Fellow, Steward and Domestic Bursar in 1967. He was subsequently Emeritus Fellow Honorary Archivist and Presdident of DCA.
