Biography
Sophie Frankland was born in Manchester, the third child of Sir Edward Frankland (1825-1899) and Sophie Fick (1821-1874). She married London actuary Francis Colenso in November 1880 and they had five children in the 1880s. Sophie Colenso died in 1937 at the Colenso family home - Elangeni - in Amersham.
