Darwin, Charlotte Mildred, 1868-1940 (née Massingberd, 2nd wife of Leonard Darwin)
Biography
Charlotte Mildred was born on 7 March 1868, the eldest daughter of Edmund Langton and Emily Caroline Massingberd. She later changed her surname from Langton to Massingberd. On 29 November 1900 she married the scientist and eugenicist Leonard Darwin (1850-1943). They had no children. Charlotte died on 18 December 1940.

Two undated letters from Charlotte Darwin to Ida Darwin thought to have been sent in January [1931] and March 1934. The letters contain family and domestic news, a reference to the Sterilization Bill, and a visit by Dr. Carlos Paton Blacker (1895-1975), then General Secretary of the Eugenics Society.
