Biography

Katherine Lushington or Kitty as she was generally known, was the eldest daughter of Vernon Lushington and Jane Mowatt. She was was educated at home and her interests lay in music and the arts. In 1890 Katherine married Leopold James Maxse (1864-1932), journalist and political activist, at Cobham parish church. There were no children. Katherine died in October 1922 after falling over the banisters at their London house.
