Biography
Born in New York in 1950. Educated at Bronx High School of Science and Havard University. Founding member of the 'Language poetry' school. Published 'L=A=N=G=U=A=G=E' magazine between 1978 and 1981. David Gray Professor of Poetry and Letters at the State University of New York at Buffalo and Director of the Poetics Program, 1990-2003; Donald T. Regan Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the University Pennsylvania, 2003- .
