Biography

Charlie Dunbar Broad (1887-1971), epistemologist, moral philosopher, was elected a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1911, was a lecturer at St. Andrews University, 1911-20, professor of Bristol University, 1920-23, lecturer in moral science in Cam-bridge, 1926-33, and Knightsbridge Professor of Moral Philosophy, 1933-53. A writer on the philosophical aspects of psychical research, he was President of SPR in 1935 and 1958. Edmund Gurney (1847-88) was a psychologist and early psychical researcher.
