Goldney, Kathleen M., c 1895-1992 (midwife and paranormal investigator)

 Person

Biography

Kathleen M. ('Mollie') Goldney (c.1895-1992) was in her professional life a midwife. She joined SPR in 1927, was Organising Secretary, 1949-57, and a Vice-President, 1965-92. She was associated with S.G. Soal in investigating the card guessing telepathic powers of Basil Shackleton, and co-produced the report. Soal's results were posthumously exposed as fraudulent, but no blame attached to her. With Eric Dingwall and Trevor Hall, she investigated Harry Price's claims about Borley Rectory: their collective report was published as The haunting of Borley Rectory in 1956.
