'From Dr. Mc.Gowan's paper on Chinese Opium': undated notes in Parkes' hand taken from Daniel MacGowan, 'Note on Chinese Opium', which was read before the China Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society on 18 June 1856, and published in the 'Transactions of the China Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society', part VI, 1859, pp. 41-52.
