Biography

Clifford Jean Baptiste Thery was born at Herbert, Saskatchewan. He worked in the Advertising Department of Lever Bros Ltd before serving in the Royal Air Force, 1939-1944, working mainly on air maintenance. He was employed as a Traffic Officer and Station Superintendent for the British Overseas Airways Corporation from 1944, and joined the Airways Department of Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd at Hong Kong in 1950. After posts as Traffic Officer at Kowloon and Superintendent of the Booking Centre at Hong Kong, he was appointed Manager of the Airways Department. He retired from the company in 1969.
