Photographic copies of engravings of paintings of James Matheson and William Jardine, probably painted in the 1820s and engraved in the 1830s. The paintings are described on the envelope as the work of George Chinnery, but the Matheson engraving was actually made by Henry Cousins in 1837 from a portrait by James Lonsdale.
