The collection consists of a mixture of family and estate papers relating to the Hengrave Hall estate, owned by the Kitson and Gage families, alongside antiquarian records collected by two members of the Gage family in the early 19th century. There is also a small collection of records relating to the Rookwoods of Coldham Hall, who married into the Gage family in the 19th century.
