Biography

Peter Isaac (1921-2005) was professionally a scholar of occupational hygiene and public-health engineering; and in second place, a bibliographer and student of the English book trade. He took up printing in 1957 under the name of the Allenholme Press (the name of his house in Wylam, Northumberland). Among his printed output were three numbers of Bulmer Papers, enshrining his own scholarship on the printer William Bulmer (born in Newcastle). Otherwise, most of the printed items in this collection are small ephemera of various kinds.
