Biography

Brooke Crutchley (1907-2003) had a long career at Cambridge University Press. He was Assistant University Printer 1930-45, and succeeded Walter Lewis as University Printer 1946-74. Stanley Morison was an advisor to the Press during all this time and Crutchley was his chief collaborator.

Scope and Contents The series comprises Brooke Crutchley’s personal collection of fine letterpress printing – over 200 items originally held in six box files in his study in Little Shelford, Cambridge.
