The letters are variously ms. copies, typescript carbon copies, and photocopies. With a note from 1983 is a pencil sketch (photocopy) of Eric Gill made by Michael Kelly in 1940. The last letter in the sequence is addressed to 'the family Tegetmeier' after Denis's death (1987).

This series consists of: Morison's collection of papers on Gill deposited by him at Cambridge University Press on 24 May 1939; additions to this collection made by Brooke Crutchley; and later papers of Morison relating to Gill. All these papers are mixed here. Items 1-8 are correspondence of Gill; 9- 15 other correspondence; 16-60 all other material, arranged roughly chronologically.
