Biography

John Ehrman was born in London on 17 March 1920. He was educated at Charterhouse and Trinity College, Cambridge. He was a fellow of Trinity College between 1947 and 1952. Thereafter he worked as part of the team preparing the official history of the Second World War and published extensively as an independent scholar on warfare and foreign policy. He died on 15 June 2011 in Oxfordshire.
