Biography

Tambimuttu was born in Ceylon [Sri Lanka] on 15 Aug. 1915. He moved to London in 1938 and established the magazine 'Poetry London'. As editor he published the works of Lawrence Durrell, W.H. Auden, Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg and other modernist poets. Whilst in the United States, he published 'Poetry London - New York' along similar lines. He died in London on 23 June 1983.
