Biography

Francesco Durante (1684-1755), a leading Italian composer of Church music, and an outstanding teacher of international repute. The setting was probably completed by Giuseppe Gazzaniga (1743-1818), Italian composer especially of opera, and maestro di capella at Crema Cathedral, 1791-1818.
