Biography

Wolfgang Sauerlander (1912-77), editor, assisted Ralph Manheim in his translations of the Brothers Grimm, Peter Handke, Bertolt Brecht and others, offering advice on curious expressions, obscure allusions and problems of tone and style. Manheim published his translation of Grimm's tales for young and old: the complete stories in 1978
