Biography

Martin Sarmiento (1692-1770), Benedictine scholar, Royal monastery of St. Martin, Madrid, author of works in literature, history and botany. The scheme is for 3000-4000 volumes for a private library (law books are excluded because the collector is a lawyer) in Greek and Latin writers, pagan and Christian, Fathers, Councils, Bibles in various languages and biblical commentaries, history, science, voyages, collected works of writers, grammar and linguistics in European and oriental languages, curiosities.
