Biography

Joseph Brackenbury (1788-1864) was admitted to Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, in 1808. He was Chaplain to the Madras Establishment, 1812-18, and Chaplain and Secretary to Magdalen Hospital, Southwark, 1828-60. He published Natale solum and other poetical pieces in 1810 by subscription.

The author's interleaved copy of Natale solum and other poetical pieces, with a new preface and many additional poems, including lines 'Written on my departure for India. 1821'. There is one loose poem 'To Mary Nov. 28 1848'.
