Biography

Zenón de Somodevilla y Bengoechea, Marqués de la Ensanada (1702-81), was Spanish minister for finance, war, the navy and the Indies, and effectively Prime Minister, 1743-54. He fell from power in 1754 and was exiled. He was restored in 1760, but exiled again in 1766.
