Statement of his services to Irish Government, as Inspector General of Prisons, in order to obtain compensation for abolition of his office and pension from Treasury; 'During the whole of the Fenian troubles I was entrusted with most important and confidential business of every description, connected with the Police, Prisons, Magistracy the Foreign and other offices'; never asked for increased salary, honours; expected to be made Chairman of new Prison Board
