‘Centenary of the Greenwich Meridian’ stamps: two first day covers, 1984-06-26
Two first day covers each bearing four stamps issued for the 1984 ‘Centenary of the Greenwich Meridian’. The stamps show: a view of the Earth from the Apollo 11 (16p), a navigational chart of the British Channel (20.5p), the Royal Greenwich Observatory (28p), and Sir George Airy’s Transit Circle (31p). The first set is on an envelope with a printed image of Flamsteed House; the second is on an envelope with a printed image of the Meridian.
