Biography

The Anglo-Persian Oil Co. was founded in 1909 following the discovery of oil in south-west Persia. It was renamed the Anglo-Iranian Oil Co. in 1935; British Petroleum in 1954; BP Amoco in 1998; and BP in 2001.
