Scope and Contents The provenance of the collection is uncertain, but it was possibly gathered by a member of the family of Dr. Walter Gardiner (9787/2), who can be linked to the other principal recipients of letters. He was a botanist, as were A.C. Seward (9787/1) and Sir W.T. Thiselton-Dyer (9787/5); a fellow of Clare, as was J.R.
