Scope and Contents

Letter from [WSC] to 17th Lord Derby arguing that Mustafa Kemal Pasha [later Ataturk] and a reconciled Turkey should be used as a barrier against the Bolsheviks and to safeguard British interests in the Middle East and India, and that an Anglo-French defensive alliance would be a good idea provided France agreed to let Germany revive economically and so form a barrier to the westward spread of Bolshevism.
