Photograph taken for Picture Post magazine of WSC tiling Orchard Cottage, which was being built at Chartwell [Kent]. The photograph is taken from the side, and shows WSC kneeling on the roof where tiles are being laid, with someone just out of shot leaning over his shoulder to hand him something. With his other hand, WSC is just taking his cigar out of his mouth. He is wearing a heavy overcoat and a light coloured homburg hat.
