Biography

J. and M. Lazarus appear to have arrived in Lourenço Marques in 1899. They first advertised as photographers in the 1901 directory. Their last advertisement appears in 1907, although their box number is still listed in the 1909 edition. They sold their studio to Sidney Hocking.

Scope and Contents A collection of thirty-two loose prints, measuring approximately 205 x 155 mm. and mounted on card. The majority of which are captioned and signed by the photographer. The captions have been used as titles and have been recorded as found. Titles composed by the cataloguer are enclosed in square brackets.
