Biography

Robert Williams and Co. was not a commercial photographic firm, but the firm of Robert Williams & Co, Mining Engineers. This firm, headed by Robert Williams (see ODNB entry) was responsible for the mineral prospecting, mining management and labour recruitment for the Tanganyika Concessions Company (from 1899) and the Union Miniere du Haut-Katanga (from 1906).
